Fire & Rescue - Services

The Plain Township Fire Department continues to provide high quality fire, EMS and rescue services to the citizens and visitors of Plain Township. This is possible through the continued support of the taxpayers.

The five-year plan will include the inflation-driven operating expenses for both the volunteer/part-time and full-time employees of the department. Local, state and federal requirements mandate the continued training, minimum certifications, and minimum safety equipment necessary to provide these services.

Our goal is to grow with the township, recognizing that we must focus on a predictable increase in our incident volume, but at the same time strive to keep response times to a minimum.

911 Response

With an average response time of 4 minutes in Plain Township, emergency assistance is just a phone call away through our 9-1-1 service. When your call is received, we will dispatch and advanced life support (ALS) medic, or fire engine, depending on the type of call.

Emergency Medical Services

Plain Township Fire & Rescue provides emergency medical services for its residents. Plain Fire & Rescue is staffed by full time Paramedics and part time Personnel, and is equipped to handle any medical emergency from cut fingers to cardiac arrest. Our paramedics are trained in advanced cardiac life support, basic trauma life support and participate in continuing education year round.

Plain Township Fire & Rescue Medic Units are equipped with cardiac monitor/defibrillator/pacemaker. Emergency medical equipment to deal with special situations such as airway problems, medications, pediatric patients and trauma are also on board.

Medical procedures performed by the fire medics are guided by Stark County Standing Orders.

Fire Suppression

Plain Township Fire & Rescue provides fire suppression in many different ways. While the big red fire engine comes to mind immediately, the best defense against fire is to prevent it. On a daily basis, Plain Fire & Rescue works with local businesses and residents on fire code enforcement. The Fire Prevention Bureau provides awareness of fire hazards and the Fire Prevention Bureau investigates all fires.
