JP Neff, Plain Township Highway Superintendent

JP was promoted to Highway Superintendent in January 2022. He began his career with the Plain Township Road Department in 2012 as an Operator / Laborer and was later promoted to Project Inspector in 2020 where he oversaw the paving projects and worked with all outside utility companies.

As Highway Superintendent, JP oversees all road department duties, which includes the overall administration and direction of highway operations. He plans, directs, and budgets all activities within the highway department and is responsible for bid packages and projects.

The Plain Township Road Department consists of 17 full time employees that are responsible for maintaining 174 lane miles of roadway. Some of the responsibilities of the Road Department include snow and ice removal, road repairs, ditching/culvert installation, storm sewer cleaning, catch basin repairs, sign installations/repairs, roadside mowing, street sweeping, pavement markings, repair of curbing and road resurfacing.

Prior to working for Plain Township, JP started with the Canton Township Road Department in 2002 as an Operator / Laborer and later served as the Interim Highway Superintendent. JP graduated from Canton South High School and attended the University of Akron, where he studied Business Administration. JP and his wife have 3 beautiful children and are proud lifelong residents of Stark County.

Teresa K. Santora, Road Administrative Assistant

Teresa was hired in 2008. Today she serves as the Road Administrative Assistant. Her responsibilities include Administrative Duties for the Highway Superintendent, Highway Foreman, and Project Inspector. The Road Administrative Assistant handles Plain Township resident's requests, complaints or concerns and makes each a high priority, and sees to that each individual one is fulfilled in a timely manner. Teresa works along with the Highway Superintendent on Road Material and Paving bids.

Teresa is a 1984 graduate of GlenOak High School and has been a lifelong township resident. She's an avid animal lover, especially dogs, and her pride and joy is her 4 legged child, a cocker spaniel named Giovanni.
